    Hey fellow climbers!

I recently got my hands on the Trango Phase Alpine Draws, and let me tell you, these draws were as much a surprise as finding a good foothold when you’re about to peel off! If any of you have tried them out yet—or are thinking about it—I’d love to hear your thoughts!

First Impressions: My initial reaction was a mix of “Whoa, these are light!” with a side dish of “Do I have a new favorite?” Weighing in at just 80 grams per draw, they’re like the featherweight champions in my gear bag. I felt like I was carrying a bag of potato chips rather than a set of alpine draws!

Field Experience: I took them out on a recent alpine adventure—let’s just say they passed the test with flying colors. I felt like I was leading with a new sense of freedom. The easy handling, combined with their reliability, reminded me of that one trustworthy friend who’s always there to belay you safely. One tip though: Keep an eye on them in the gear closet. They’re so compact and light, they might just disappear on you!

    • Pros: Quick and smooth clipping action. Super light – did I mention that already?
    • Cons: Truthfully, I’m still searching for one. Perhaps they could invent self-cleaning karabiners? A climber can dream!

Funny story: On my last climb, I actually thought I left one draw behind because I couldn’t feel its weight on my harness. Turns out it was right where it should be, doing its job invisibly. Let’s just say my climbing partner got a good laugh at my expense!

“Why carry extra weight when you can be as light as a feather?”

I’d love to hear any other hilarious, nerve-wracking, or downright epic stories you all have with the Trango Phase Alpine Draws. Do you find them as game-changing as I do, or have some slipped through your fingers, literally? Drop a line below and let’s dive into some rope-swinging tales!

Thanks, everyone! Can’t wait to hear your stories!

So stoked to see some love for the Trango Phase Alpine Draws! 🚀 These little weightless wonders really do seem like they could give climbing gravity a run for its money. I totally get the “bag of potato chips” analogy—perhaps a diet version, given their featherweight status! 😅

Here’s a few things I’ve noticed during my time with them:

    • Durability: Despite being ridiculously light, they’re surprisingly robust. I’ve been through some scrambles that sounded like a percussion session with rock surfaces, and they’ve slid through relatively unscathed.
    • Versatility: Whether I’m on a traditional climb or pushing my limits on sport routes, these draws blend right in—like the perfect chameleon of climbing gear.
    • Carabiner Gates: Smooth operator alert! Nothing’s more satisfying than that buttery clipping action when you’re at an awkward angle 40 feet up.

Did You Know? If you connect a few of these bad boys and give them a gentle swat, you can have an impromptu wind chime. Now, that’s what I call making music while on the move. 🎶😉

Would love to hear if anyone else has tested their musicality or just loved their feather-lightness as much as I have! Keep on climbing, folks! 🧗‍♂️
