ParticipantSo, I finally made the leap and replaced the fabric on my Lippert 236558 RV Solera awning, and let me tell you, it was an adventure! I mean, nothing says “fun in the sun” like the thrill of unrolling a giant piece of fabric on a windy day, am I right?
After battling with the old, faded fabric that had more tears than a soap opera star, I decided it was high time to give my awning a refresh. Installation was a mixed bag; with some helpful online videos and a good sense of humor, I managed to wrestle the new fabric into place. I might have frightened a few squirrels with my grumbling, but I’ll spare you the details on my battle with the plastic rail.
The moment I rolled it out for the first time, it was like unveiling a masterpiece! The color was vibrant and sunny, giving my RV that fresh look as if it had just come from a spa day. It really made my tiny home on wheels look so much cheerier – just what I needed after spending another winter in hibernation mode.
Here are a few things I loved about the Lippert 236558:
- Durability: The new fabric feels sturdy and ready to take on all sorts of weather shenanigans. I’ve already had it out during a light drizzle, and it handled it like a champ.
- Easy to Clean: Spotting a chubby bird taking aim at my new fabric wasn’t ideal, but a quick wipe down with a damp cloth made it look brand new again. Take that, feathered fiends!
- Color Options: It’s available in some fabulous colors! I went with the classic blue, but there are enough choices to suit just about any RV aesthetic. It almost felt like shopping for paint colors in the home improvement aisle. Absolutely riveting!
Now, onto the funny parts – let’s just say my neighbor who saw me struggling with the installation was definitely entertained. I accidentally shouted a few “encouragements” to myself that might’ve raised some eyebrows. Of course, once everything was up, we barbecued under it and toasted to my minor triumph in RV renovation.
I’d love to hear your experiences with the Lippert 236558 awning fabric or any tips you have for a newbie like me. Did you face any challenges during installation? Do you have a favorite color combo that you recommend? Let’s swap tales of our awning escapades!
