Hey fellow trail blazers!
I recently took the plunge and bought myself a pair of Kahtoola MICROspikes after one too many embarrassing slips on icy trails last winter. Let me tell you, these things are like giving your hiking boots a secret superhero upgrade!
First Impressions
When I unpacked these spiky wonders, my first thought was: “Is it legal to have this much metal on your feet?” The spikes look intimidating, but once you slip them on, they fit like a glove—erm, for shoes. The flexible rubber fits snugly over my beloved boots without feeling like I gave my shoes a suffocating hug.Trail Testing
I took my MICROspikes on a trial run—or shall I say, a trial trip—on a steep, ice-riddled trail.
