Hey camping enthusiasts!
So, I recently got my hands on the Pelican Elite 50 Quart Cooler, and I thought I’d share my thoughts and experiences while inviting yours as well. Consider this a campfire chat, minus the actual fire… and, you know, not in person.
First off, this cooler is built like a tank. Seriously, if I didn’t know better, I’d suspect it could survive a zombie apocalypse. Durability? Check! I even used it as a makeshift chair when my camp stool decided to play a disappearing act. Worked like a charm, although I can’t say the same for my dignity when I toppled off.
Now, let’s talk about its ability to keep things cold. I recently took it on a long weekend trip where summer decided to crank the heat up to maximum. I was pleasantly surprised when my ice remained… well, ice, for the entire trip. Impressive ice retention indeed! Just don’t expect it to fetch your drinks for you.
One of my favorite features has to be the latch system. Those things are beastly; easy to open and close even when my hands are full or, let’s be honest, when I’ve had a couple of cold ones in the evening.
In terms of capacity, it comfortably fits snacks, drinks, and the all-important bacon stash. Yes, I prioritize bacon over beverages—judge all you want.
- Fit a whole weekend’s worth of supplies
- Kept everything icy cold
- Made new friends as they admired its rugged design (or perhaps they just wanted to borrow it!)
Overall, this cooler has become my trusty camping sidekick, and I’d love to hear from others who have used it. How did it hold up during your adventures? Any tips or “oops” moments you’d like to share? Jump right in; the water’s… refreshingly cold!
