ParticipantHey fellow adventurers!
I’ve been putting the Blackburn Outpost Elite Frame Bag to the test on my recent trail escapes and thought it was high time to share some thoughts on this bikepacking wonder. Spoiler: it hasn’t made me any faster uphill, but it sure has kept my snacks safe and sound!
First Impressions: Right out of the box, this bag looks sleek and seems sturdier than my grandma’s secret cookie jar—sorry Grandma! It’s made with durable material that screams “I’m ready for anything!” and has more pockets than your average pair of cargo shorts.
On the Trails: I recently took it on a weekend trip into the woods, where my navigation skills—or lack thereof—had me exploring every nook and cranny of the trail. The frame bag did phenomenally well in holding my essentials: maps, energy bars, and let’s admit it, a questionable amount of gummy bears.
One thing I really appreciated was the adjustable mounting. It fits snugly on my oddly shaped frame, and I didn’t have to perform any acrobatics to install it. There’s no swaying or sagging, even when fully loaded, and it stayed out of the way of my knees—which is particularly important for someone who seems to pedal like a duck.
Weather-Proof? Here comes the real test: the heavens opened up on day two. While I got a free shower, the bag held up excellently, keeping my stuff dry and safe. I wouldn’t throw it in a river, but it handled a good downpour no problem.
- Pros:
- Durable and weather-resistant
- Ample storage with smart pocket distribution
- Easy to install and adjust
- Cons:
- A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for!
- Maybe too many pockets? (Kidding, there’s no such thing)
Overall, I’ve been pretty happy with the Blackburn Outpost Elite Frame Bag. It’s like having a trusty sidekick on my bikepacking adventures. But I’m curious—what do you guys think? Anyone had any epic fails or wins with it? Or maybe someone’s managed to fit an entire mountain bike in there? Let’s hear your experiences and any tips you might have for optimizing storage!
Looking forward to your tales!
