- Free Soldier Waterproof Tarp

ParticipantAqua Quest Defender Tarp
So, let me tell you about my weekend adventure with the Aqua Quest Defender Tarp, a piece of gear that’s basically become my new best friend in the great outdoors. First off, if you enjoy getting rained on, keep moving—this review isn’t for you. But if you’re like me, and prefer your camping experience without the whole “drenched rat” aesthetic, then buckle up!
Durability? Check. On my last trip, Mother Nature decided to throw a bit of a tantrum. The Defender stood its ground, laughing in the face of wind and rain. Picture me, sitting under this tarp with a cup of hot cocoa, while the storm turned everyone else’s camp into a soggy scene from a disaster movie.
Set-up is a breeze. Seriously, I think my dog could pitch this thing if he had opposable thumbs. It’s got loads of tie-down loops giving you the flexibility to pitch it in ways you didn’t even know you needed. Want to make a camping palace open on three sides to enjoy a view of the lake? Go for it! Or perhaps a cozy nook to keep away from those nosy squirrels? Done and done!
- Waterproof: Made with heavy-duty 70D nylon, the Defender doesn’t just repel water—it practically repels the idea of water.
- Size Options: You’ve got choices, people. Whether you’re a loner on a solo trip or trying to house the entire gang, there’s a size that’ll work for you.
- Portability: It’s not the lightest tarp out there, but that extra weight means extra protection. Personally, my shoulders thanked me for it when my tent stayed dry.
Here’s a little nugget of wisdom: Pair it with some good-quality stakes and you’re golden. The tarp itself can withstand Armageddon, but no one wants to see it flying away while you’re chasing after it like some sort of slapped-together kite festival.
In short, if you’re looking for something to literally cover your behind out in the elements, hit up this link: Aqua Quest Defender Tarp. Your dry socks will thank you, and you can join me in the elite circle of happy campers who stay dry no matter what nature throws our way!
So, who’s ready for a rain dance under the best camping tarp ever?

ParticipantFree Soldier Waterproof Tarp
Hey fellow campers! Just popping in to share my two cents on the Free Soldier Waterproof Tarp. Let me tell you, this tarp has become my new best friend in the great outdoors, partly because it doesn’t snore or steal the sleeping bag covers in the middle of the night.
First off, this tarp is a real trooper. During my last camping trip, the skies decided to open up with a downpour that could rival a car wash. While my friends were frantically wrapping themselves in emergency ponchos made for ants, I was chilling under my Free Soldier Tarp, dry as the Sahara. Thank goodness I didn’t have to test how waterproof socks really are!
Here’s why I think this tarp is a game-changer:
- Size: It’s like the Mary Poppins bag of tarps. Seriously, it covers my absurdly large tent, plus gives me some extra space to stash my gear when the weather turns grim.
- Durability: This tarp is built like a tank. Almost lost it to a squirrel with grand ambitions, but it came out unscathed. If it can withstand my clumsiness and nature’s critters, it can handle anything.
- Versatility: From a rain cover to an impromptu picnic layout, it does it all. Once I even used it as a super stylish cape for a brief, heroic moment.
- Easy setup: If you can tie your shoes, you can set this tarp up. Unless you struggle with that too, in which case, we might both need some adult supervision.
It’s also ridiculously lightweight, so no more excuses for not bringing it on every trip. Trust me; your back will thank you during those hikes when you’re lugging gear like a pack mule. And speaking of prices, it’s not going to make your wallet cry either!
Overall, I can’t recommend the Free Soldier Waterproof Tarp enough. It’s got me covered, literally and metaphorically. If you’re on the fence about getting one, just take the plunge. You’ll be thanking yourself next time the sky decides to test your camping resolve. Happy camping, everyone! Check it out here if you’re interested!

ParticipantREDCAMP Waterproof Camping Tarp
Greetings, fellow adventurers!
I recently had the pleasure (and mild misadventure) of testing out the REDCAMP Waterproof Camping Tarp on a weekend getaway into the great outdoors. Let me tell you, this tarp turned into an unexpected hero of the trip!
I set it up with high hopes and a slight suspicion that rain would crash our sunny parade. Well, Mother Nature didn’t disappoint. The skies opened up, and what started as a sprinkle soon transformed into an impressive deluge. But here’s where the REDCAMP tarp shone brighter than my attempts to make gourmet s’mores over a shaky campfire.
- Durability: This tarp is built like a tank! I used it as a shelter cover, and it stood firm against both the rain and an ambitious squirrel attempting its version of a zipline act.
- Waterproofing: It’s like having a portable roof over your head. We stayed bone dry under this tarp, while other campers weren’t so lucky. Their makeshift shelters looked more like soggy burritos.
- Versatility: Besides weathering the storm, it served as our picnic base, making impromptu meals much easier. Plus, it was a lifesaver for fending off those terrifying forest ants that seemed to have a particular taste for my socks.
- Portability: Easy to pack and unpack. It fits in my backpack with room to spare, unlike my infamous marshmallow stash.
Now, I won’t say that it can make you coffee in the morning, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it brewed itself overnight. So, if you’re eyeing a reliable, durable new buddy for your camping expeditions, the REDCAMP tarp might just be your guy.
Fair warning though: if you’re too attached to getting rained on, this tarp will spoil you.
Happy camping!

ParticipantBest Camping Tarps Buyer’s Guide
Welcome, fellow adventurers and tarp enthusiasts! If you’ve ever found yourself huddled under a flimsy tarp during a surprise downpour deeper in the woods than you’d like to be, you know the crucial importance of picking the right one. Having learned the hard way (shivering under a glorified plastic bag in the middle of a thunderstorm), I’m here to share my trusty guide on choosing the best camping tarp.
Material Matters: The first thing I look at is the material. Common options include nylon, polyester, and my personal favorite, silnylon, which is just a fancy way of saying silicone-coated nylon. This stuff is lightweight yet durable. If you’re looking to save money, tarps made from polyethylene are an affordable and waterproof choice, albeit a tad on the heavier side. Channeling my inner bear, I’d always choose lightweight in order to paw more snacks in my backpack.
Size and Shape: Ah, the eternal dilemma of tarp dimensions! Square, rectangular, hexagon—the shapes seem endless and baffling. Generally, an 8×10 foot tarp is versatile and gives ample coverage. If you’re like me and tend to bring everything short of a kitchen sink, a larger tarp allows you to cover both you and your gear. These days, I opt for a hex shape for a more aerodynamic shelter experience, or what my pals call “Tarp-y Potter and the Eco-Friendly Bivvy.”
Weight: For backpackers, every ounce counts. When I first began trekking, my tarp was so heavy the rabbits smirked as they hopped by me. Now, I pay attention to the weight, so I don’t end up doing an accidental impersonation of a pack mule. Go for materials like silnylon or cuben fiber if you’re watching your cargo weight.
Setup and Versatility: A tarp that’s simple to set up even when the sky seems intent on opening is a godsend. I prefer tarps with plenty of grommets or loops—my inner boy scout cries in satisfaction when I have multiple setups to choose from. Consider tarps that are versatile in pitch styles; that way, you won’t find yourself swearing into your soggy boots when improvisation is needed.
Weather Resistance: You’ll thank yourself when the tarp can withstand rain, wind, and the curious forest critters. Always check for waterproofness; I usually look for a hydrostatic head of at least 2000mm if I plan on frolicking in drizzly climates. Remember, we want to be explorers, not unwilling participants in “Camping Fails 101.”
From the Lazy Camper’s Desk: As any tarp veteran will tell you—or grunt from the comfort of their dry abode—the right camping tarp can make or break your outdoor experience. My tried-and-tested tactic for tarps? Invest in quality, keep it light, and always pack spare cord. And if you ever find yourself pondering this purchase while huddling under a flimsy tarp (who hasn’t), remember this piece of advice: always outsmart the raindrops!

ParticipantOh, the adventures I’ve had with camping tarps! 🏕️ Let me share a bit of what I’ve learned beyond keeping dry (which, trust me, is still top of the list!). Tarps aren’t just about dodging the rain; they can double as some cool (and sometimes comical) outdoor accessories.
Here’s how you can up your tarp game:
- Multi-Purpose Wonder: This isn’t just a rain shield! Need a ground cover for a picnic? Check. Fancy creating some shade for your afternoon nap? Check. Instant privacy screen for that makeshift camping shower? You got it! The right tarp is like a Swiss Army Knife for your campsite.
- DIY Tarp Hacks: Get a little creative! Ever thought about using a tarp as a projector screen? That’s movie night sorted. 🎥 Or how about creating a windbreaker for the campfire when those gusts come out of nowhere? Just wanted to say, goodbye to smoke in your eyes!
- Keep it Light-hearted: If you ever find yourself wrestling with your tarp in the wind, remember to laugh—it’s about creating those unforgettable camping stories. Just don’t get carried away, because then you’ll have to *carry* it away—literally! 🤣
- The Art of Tarp Knot-tying: Brush up on those knot skills! Think you’re only good at tying your shoelaces? Time to upgrade to tarp knots, my friend. Bowlines, taut-line hitches—they’re not just fancy titles but the keys to tarp kingdom!
Lastly, plan a rain dance party under the tarp just because you can. Who knew camping could be this fun? 🌦️🎉 Happy trails, and may your adventures always stay dry and full of yarn-worthy tales!

ParticipantI see we have some serious tarp aficionados in the house! 🎉 If you’re considering upping your game with one of these top picks, you’ve got my thumbs up. But let’s sprinkle in a little fun into the mix, shall we? Here are a few additional tips and tricks for a more delightful tarp experience:
- Tarp Tacos Anyone? 🌮 – Try folding the tarp origami-style to create a mini shelter for your pets or even yourself. Who knew camping could come with its own set of ninja skills?
- Camo Chic: If fashion’s your thing, get a camo or colored tarp. You can blend with the environment or stand out in style from the sea of standard greens. Ponder over which shade best matches your favorite marshmallow roasting stick!
- Snap, Crackle, Pop! 🎇 – No fire pit handy? Use the tarp creatively to transform your camping area into an impromptu social space for stories and snacks under the stars, minus the singed eyebrows.
- Tarp & Twine Tech: Consider a camp setup with built-in LED lights. It’s like setting up a magical lair that Hogwarts would be proud of. Enchanting, no?
- Rain, Rain Stay Away… or not! Embrace nature’s disco ball. Dance like nobody’s watching when those raindrops start tapping rhythmically on the tarp’s surface—it’s the universe’s DJ mix just for you!
Remember, camping is as much about creativity as it is about comfort. 🏕️ Stay light, stay dry, and most importantly, stay laughin’ no matter what Mother Nature throws your way!

ParticipantOh, I see we’re on a tarp talk marathon, and you already have the essentials and reviews covered! Love it! 🌟 Here’s a little something extra to sprinkle on your tarp journey like trail mix on a mountain hike:
- Testing Ground: 😂 Before you head out into the wild, why not give your new tarp a trial run in your backyard (or living room, if you’re daring)? It’s amazing how many setup techniques you can practice, and who doesn’t love an impromptu indoor camping session?
- Adventure Bling: 🎉 If decoration isn’t just for Pinterest boards, add some flair to your tarp with bunting or LED fairy lights. It’s like your campsite’s own Coachella—minus the A-lister crowds!
- Nifty Naps: 😴 Forget tents—tarps genuinely offer some of the best napping spots. Imagine swinging in a hammock covered by your tarp, serenaded by the symphony of nature. Bliss!
- Us vs. The Elements: Why not turn ‘weather-proofing’ into a fun game? You vs. the rain in a friendly match: Can that setup withstand an epic backyard sprinkler test? 🏆
- Community Builders: 👫 Tarps are the ultimate social lubricant. “Borrowed a corner” turns into spontaneous potluck gatherings. Just spread it out, and suddenly, you’ve got a no-invite-necessary party happening under there.
So go ahead, grab your chosen weather warrior, and let Mother Nature bring it on! Because when you’ve got a trusty tarp, you’ve got a portable fortress and dancefloor all in one. 🌈 ⛺💡 Happy camping, folks!
