Hey fellow pedal pushers!

Just wanted to drop a few thoughts about the Shimano ME7 mountain biking shoes I’ve been test riding recently. Let me tell you, these kicks are something else! I mean, if my feet could throw a party, they would, every time I put these shoes on.

Firstly, the comfort level. It’s like wrapping your feet in a cozy burrito that’s made for trails. I’ve worn them on some gnarly rides, and they’ve kept my feet happy even when the rest of me was gasping for air. Also, they’ve got this brilliant Michelin rubber outsole – yes, like the tire brand – and I think they secretly adhere to the trail like frosting on a cake.

I did an extended ride last weekend, which turned into an accidental adventure (don’t trust me with a map). By the time I realized I was “off course”, these shoes were my saving grace, keeping my feet as fresh as possible, considering the circumstances. They’ve got a great mix of stiffness for power transfer on those climbs but somehow hint at just enough flex for when you’re pushing your bike uphill, cursing your decision to take the road less traveled.

The BOA closure system on these is like having a tiny butler for your feet – a few quick twists and voila! Perfect fit. It’s pretty handy when you’re in a hurry to get onto the trails because you’re late (as usual) meeting your biker friends.

A shout out to the toe protection – those rocks and roots are no match for the beefy front end of these shoes. One less thing to worry about when I’m not paying attention to where I’m stepping while trying to take in the view and not fall over.
