What’s Your Ideal Camping Lantern Setup?
I’ve noticed two types of campers when it comes to lighting:
1️⃣ The “One Lantern to Rule Them All” person – Packs a single, ultra-bright lantern and moves it wherever light is needed. Efficiency at its finest.
2️⃣ The “Lantern Everywhere” person – Multiple smaller lanterns spread around the site for a cozy, balanced glow. Some even color-code them—blue for the tent, yellow for the kitchen, red near the campfire. (Okay, that might be next-level, but I respect the commitment!)
I used to be a One Lantern person, but after tripping over literally everything on a dark campsite, I’ve switched to the Lantern Everywhere approach. Now, I keep:
🏕️ A big rechargeable lantern for general lighting
🛏️ A mini lantern inside the tent
🍳 A hanging light for the cooking area
🦮 And, of course, a headlamp for hands-free lighting
It’s made nighttime so much easier—no more stubbing toes or burning my s’mores because I couldn’t see what I was doing! 😆
Which type of camper are you? One mega-lantern or multiple lights?
