ParticipantLittle Giant Velocity
So, folks, let me spill the beans on my recent escapade with the Little Giant Velocity ladder. Now, before you start envisioning me toppling over like a scene from a slapstick comedy, let me clear the air: I’m still alive and well, thanks to this fantastic piece of equipment.
I’ve been meandering from campsite to campsite, and let me tell you, setting up the RV awning with an ordinary ladder was akin to wrestling with a greased pig! Enter the Little Giant Velocity—a ladder that’s so versatile that I half-expected it to pour my morning coffee.
First things first, flexibility. It’s like the yoga master of ladders. You can adjust it in so many ways that I was tempted to leave it out by the campfire and see if it would start shape-shifting on its own! The little man inside me who yearns for everything multipurpose was doing a happy dance.
- Adjustability: It’s got more positions than a yoga class. I used it as an A-frame, then extended it straight when I needed a little more height. One section even came in handy as a temporary clothesline. Sorry, socks—you were not washed in vain!
- Portability: You’d think a ladder that does so much would be heavy, but nope! It’s like lifting a feather compared to your standard hardware store ladders. Granted, that “feather” still got me huffing after a day of work, but it wasn’t too bad!
- Stability: This thing is so sturdy, I felt as secure as a cat in a sunbeam. Even on uneven ground, it stood firm, unlike my resolve when a plate of campfire s’mores is involved.
My only quibble? I wish the ladder could carry its weight in witty repartee when I’m up there solo. It does, however, come with this nifty tip & glide wheels feature that’s almost as good. Rolling it around the site without breaking a sweat? Challenge accepted!
Long story short, the Little Giant Velocity transformed my ladder experience from a dreaded chore into something almost fun. If you ever see someone adjusting an RV antenna with a cheesy grin on their face, that’s probably me on my trusty Little Giant. So, should you invest in one? In the words of every camper who’s ever been to a potluck, “Why not bring it along? You never know when you’ll need it!”

ParticipantLouisville Ladder FE3216
Well, gather ’round folks, because I’m about to tell you the tale of how the Louisville Ladder FE3216 became my trusty sidekick on the road. It all started on a bright Saturday morning, when I thought it’d be a good idea to finally wash the top of my RV, which hadn’t seen a droplet of soapy water since… well, since forever.
First Impressions: Chris Hemsworth. Really, if ladders could be people, the FE3216 is the Chris Hemsworth of ladders. Mighty tall and robustly built, it’s ready for action, and frankly, it makes me feel like I’m climbing a stairway to heaven.
Pros:
- Sturdy and Secure: Believe me when I say, I felt as steady as a mountain goat scaling that ladder. Even when I did my legendary two-step to get the dirt off the top, it didn’t so much as wobble. If this ladder were a relationship, it’d be the kind you bring home to meet your mom—reliable and solid.
- Length: It’s 16 feet tall, which is higher than my gymnastic ambitions ever got me. So, whether it’s cleaning the RV or fixing that pesky roof vent, the FE3216 has got you covered.
- Lightweight for its Size: It’s like my smartphone—large, functional, but surprisingly not bulky. You still need some muscle, but hey, who doesn’t want a little workout?
Cons:
- Storage: It’s not a disappearing act when you’re done with it. It is, after all, a ladder and won’t fold into your jeans pocket. I keep it strapped to the top of my RV, doubling as an impromptu wing should I ever decide to fly.
Final Thoughts: Having the Louisville Ladder FE3216 is kind of like having a large dog—it’s incredibly useful, you occasionally need to figure out the best storage situation, and it’ll be your constant companion when you’re tackling those RV chores. Plus, if you’re like me, halfway up the ladder, you start to philosophize about your life choices, which makes the chore even more thrilling. Overall, a solid purchase for anyone who needs a little extra height with their adventures!

ParticipantWerner D6228-2
Hey fellow RV enthusiasts!
So, I’ve been putting my trusty Werner D6228-2 ladder through its paces, and I figured you might be interested in hearing about my experiences. First things first, this ladder is a beast in the best possible way. At 28 feet, it feels like the Swiss Army knife of ladders for us RV folks.
Why I love it:
- Stability: I had my doubts about climbing something so tall, especially when trying to wrangle a new satellite dish onto my RV, but the Werner stood firm like my morning cup of coffee—reliable and absolutely necessary.
- Build Quality: Built like a tank but way easier to handle. The aluminum construction is both sturdy and mercifully lightweight. It’s like they finally found the sweet spot between safety and my impatience to get things done.
- Ease of Use: The slip-resistant steps are kind to my clumsy tendencies. Trust me, having missed a step more times than I care to admit (who can relate?), these grippy rungs save the day every time.
Funny tidbit: So, the first time I used it, I felt like I was summiting Everest. Halfway up, I shouted down to my partner, “Honey, if I don’t make it, clear my browser history!” But by the time I got to the top? Piece of cake!
A quick tip:
When you’re wrestling with those higher reaches of your RV, consider using some bungee cords to secure the ladder to your rig. Better to be safe than sorry and stuck explaining to your insurance why there’s a ladder through your window.Overall, the Werner D6228-2 has saved my bacon more times than I care to remember. It’s like having an extra member in the crew—one that’s very tall and very supportive. If there’s ever been a time I’ve trusted my life to 28 feet of aluminum, it’s with this bad boy. Highly recommend it to anyone needing to scale the great heights of RV life.
Safe travels, and may your repairs be swift and your ladder climbs steady!

ParticipantBest RV Extension Ladders Buyer’s Guide
Hey RV enthusiasts! If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for the best gadgets and gear to improve your RVing experience. One of the unsung heroes of the RV world is the trusty extension ladder. Whether you’re trying to clean those tricky spots, perform some maintenance, or just sneak a peek over the neighbors’ RV at the campground (not that I recommend that!), a good ladder is a must-have. So, let me offer some friendly, and occasionally goofy, advice on finding the best extension ladder for your RV adventures.
1. Consider the Height
First things first, let’s talk height. Make sure the ladder extends long enough to reach where you need but isn’t so long that it becomes unwieldy. My RV attempts at creating circus acrobatics aside, trust me when I say that balancing on a too-short ladder while washing your windshield is not the adrenaline rush you want!2. Material Matters
You’ll find ladders made from aluminum and fiberglass. Aluminum is lightweight and resistant to rust, which is perfect for the often wet and sometimes unpredictable weather us RV folks love to explore. Fiberglass is a bit more robust and doesn’t conduct electricity, which is handy if your rig is parked near power lines (safety first!).3. Weight Capacity
I won’t dive into the details of my lockdown weight gain, but let’s just say that knowing the ladder’s weight capacity is crucial. Most standard ladders hold up to 300 pounds, which should be more than sufficient unless you’re trying to scale it with a kitchen sink on your shoulder.4. Storability
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done the RV shuffle—trying to fit everything perfectly like a game of Tetris. You’ll want a ladder that compacts enough for easy storage. Telescoping ladders are a godsend for this, as they shrink down to a fraction of their size.5. Stability Features
Some ladders come with fancy features like non-slip feet or stabilizing bars. Personally, given my track record with gravity, these are essential. I’ve had my fair share of shaky moments that I’d rather not repeat!6. Price Point
As much as I’d love a ladder made from stardust with built-in Wi-Fi, budget matters. Consider how often you’ll use it and on what tasks when weighing the cost. Sometimes, spending a bit more for durability ends up saving you in the long run.For those ready to take the leap (not off the ladder, mind you), I’d suggest checking out models like the Little Giant’s Velocity series or the Xtend & Climb Telescoping Ladder. Both have been praised for their compactness and stability.
In short, find a ladder that feels like a trusty old friend—there to support you in life’s ups and downs, both literally and metaphorically. Happy RVing, and may your ladders always be level!

ParticipantOh, ladders and RVs – what a match made in elevated heaven! 🚐🏔️ Let me chime in with a few ladder musings that could be the cherry on top of your camping sundae:
- Creature Comforts: Ever thought about accessorizing your ladder? A couple of ladder mitts can prevent scratches on your rig, while a hook can hold that toolbox you’ve been juggling like a circus act! Trust me, it’ll save your sanity—your neighbors might be less entertained by the juggling, though 😉.
- The Art of Climbing: I once treated my climb more like an interpretative dance, but it’s surprisingly less graceful than you’d think. Practice the 3-point contact rule (two hands, one foot or two feet, one hand always in touch) and avoid twirling on the rungs. Maybe save the dance moves for the campfire instead? 🔥🕺
- Let there be Light: A headlamp can turn night repairs into a magical experience—like starring in your own action thriller: “The Repairer: RV After Dark.” Just make sure the only suspense is the dramatic lighting and not you up on a wobbly ladder!
- Pro Tidy-Tip: To keep your ladder from hogging storage space like a camping gear diva, slap on some Velcro straps for a clean roll-up. Tidy ladder, happy camper—think of it as ladder feng shui!
And a fun parting thought: wouldn’t it be something if ladders had a GPS voice guiding us to the rooftop? “Turn left at the vent and proceed to the highest point for a stellar view.” Ah, technology dreams! 💫

ParticipantHey there! 🚐✨ Let’s chat about the unsung hero of the RV world: the trusty extension ladder! Because seriously, what’s RV living if you can’t scale your home on wheels like a pro?
- Adventures in Ladder Land: I once got stuck on the roof because I didn’t check the ladder strength. Little did I know my morning coffee made me heavier! 😂 So, always check the weight capacity. Bonus tip: avoid morning donuts before a climb!
- Multi-Task Like a Boss: Why settle for just a ladder when you can have a transformer? Look for ladders with adjustable heights and configurations. It’s like giving your ladder a personality upgrade—sometimes it’s a stairway, sometimes it’s scaffolding!
- Style Points: Ever tried adding decals or a splash of paint to match your RV? Sure, it’s just a ladder, but a little flair can make your climbing experience feel like an MTV episode—🎤 “Welcome to Ladder Cribs!”
- Safety Dance: Always keep your eyes peeled for slippery steps or rogue banana peels (hey, it could happen). You’d rather not perform any unscheduled gymnastics, trust me! 🥇🤸♂️
In the end, the right ladder isn’t just a tool, it’s a passport to new heights—literally! So next time your ladder calls, may it lead to the best views and smoothest adventures! 🌄🔧

ParticipantAhoy, fellow RV adventurers! 🚐🌟 Let’s gather around the (virtual) campfire and have a hearty chuckle about our trusty, leggy companions—the extension ladders! Because let’s face it, no one climbs the ladder of life without a bit of humor along the way.
- Battle of the Bulge: Ever felt like you’re fighting a wrestling match against your ladder when folding it? It feels like it has a mind of its own! My advice? Tame that metallic beast with some WD-40 magic. Who knew a little lube could turn a ladder into a well-behaved travel buddy? 😅🛠️
- Rooftop Café: Think of setting up a rooftop dining spot—a cheese platter, some grapes, and maybe even a glass of your favorite beverage. Impress the wildlife with your culinary prowess under the open sky, all thanks to your trusty extension ladder. Who says only humans appreciate fine dining? 🧀🦢
- Skyward Soundtrack: For those serenading moments while stargazing, attach a mini wireless speaker to the ladder. Just make sure it’s not blasting “Under Pressure” while you’re up there! 🎶📻 It might send the wrong message. 😜
- Ladder Logic: When a ladder isn’t in use, what better way to spice things up than using it as a makeshift clothesline? Talk about a double (or maybe triple) life! Just don’t be surprised if it develops delusions of grandeur. 😂👕👖
And hey, let’s fantasize about smart ladders in the future—ones that whisper weather updates or cheer you on with motivational quotes as you climb. The sky’s the limit, my friends, literally! 🚀✨

ParticipantHey everyone! 🚐✨ Let’s dive even deeper into the wonderful world of extension ladders, those trusty sidekicks of RV living! Here are some extra tidbits to make your ladder escapades more enjoyable:
- Weather Warrior: Ever had that moment when your ladder feels like an ice rink? 😅 Consider giving it some grip tape if you’re planning adventures in wetter climates. It’s like putting snow tires on your adventure mobile but for your feet!
- Gadget Galore: Attach a small pouch or holster to hold your tools or even a refreshing beverage. Hydration while climbing? Now that’s multitasking genius! 🚀🥤
- Ladder Loyalty Program: Customize your ladder with stickers from places you’ve visited. It might just spark interesting conversations like, “Hey, you’ve been to the Grand Canyon too?” Stickers can turn your ladder into an adventurer’s passport! 🌍🎫
- Climbing with a Soundtrack: Embrace the magic of the moment with a playlist that matches your vibe—whether it’s “Eye of the Tiger” for triumphant climbs or something more relaxing as you ascend to watch the sunset. 🎵🎸
Think of your ladder not just as a tool, but as a part of your home on wheels. It bears the marks of your travels and supports your exploration. Happy climbing! 🌄🛠️
