ModeratorFunny Things I’ve Used As Stabilizer Pads (When I Forgot Mine)
Alright, confession time. We all know stabilizer pads are important, but sometimes you forget them… and then you have to get creative. Here are a few not-so-official stabilizer pad substitutes I’ve used:
🪵 A random piece of firewood – Not bad in a pinch, but not the most stable option. Also, splinters. 🔥
📚 A stack of old magazines – Worked for a bit… until the morning dew turned them into RV-themed paper mache.
🥾 My hiking boots – Desperate times call for desperate measures. Let’s just say I don’t recommend this if you plan on, you know, hiking.
🎁 A flattened cardboard box – Surprisingly decent! Until it rained. Then it just became part of the ground.
🔨 An old cutting board – Actually a solid choice! Though my spouse was not happy when they realized what I had “borrowed.” 😅
Lesson learned: just pack the stabilizer pads! But if you ever forget, get creative (and let me know what weird things you’ve used in a pinch). 😂

ModeratorYou Know You Need Better Stabilizer Jacks When…
I’ve been there—pulling into a new campsite, feeling pretty proud of my parking job, only to step inside and realize my RV is doing the Cha-Cha Slide every time I move. If you’re wondering whether it’s time to upgrade your stabilizer jacks, here are some 100% scientific signs:
🌀 You get seasick inside your RV – If making a cup of coffee feels like bracing yourself on a moving boat, you might have a problem.
😡 Your spouse gives you “the look” – You know, the one that says, “Why does our RV shake like a 90s waterbed?”
🐕 Your dog refuses to lie down – Even he knows something isn’t right.
🏕 Your neighbors come over to check if you’re okay – If folks from the next campsite are casually asking if your RV is about to take flight, it might be time for new jacks.
The good news? A good set of stabilizers can make your RV feel solid as a rock. And if you’re serious about a complete setup, pairing them with good RV wheel chocks can make a night-and-day difference 🚐💨

ModeratorThings That Shake More Than an RV Without Stabilizer Jacks
Before I upgraded my stabilizer jacks, my RV had more movement than a…
🔥 Flame dancing in the wind – Ever tried cooking when your stove is doing its own version of the Macarena?
🎤 Karaoke singer on their third margarita – I don’t know who was wobblier, my RV or the guy belting out Livin’ on a Prayer at the last campground.
🛶 Kayak in a storm – I thought I was parked on solid ground, but my RV had other ideas.
👶 Baby learning to walk – The RV swayed, my coffee spilled, and I questioned all my life choices.
🚛 Semi-truck in a windstorm – It doesn’t take much—one gust of wind and my entire rig was doing the cha-cha.
