ParticipantReflectix Reflective Insulation
So, I recently decided to put “Reflectix Reflective Insulation” to the test in my beloved RV, affectionately known as “The Mobile Mansion”. Letâs just say it was a decision that quite literally kept my coolâor warmthâdepending on the situation.
Installation: If youâre anything like me and occasionally bungle basic DIY tasks, youâll be thrilled to know that applying Reflectix is like sticking a giant strip of aluminum foil where you want it. Peel, cut, stick, andâbada bing, bada boomâyou’re done! Except in this case, you can say things like, “I insulated the whole RV this weekend,” without breaking a sweat. Well, maybe a little sweat, but only from doing a celebratory dance at how easy it was.
- Summer: The great foe! Sunshine in my RV used to mean sauna time. After putting Reflectix up, it was like I had my very own shiny shield against the sun’s fiery wrath. I measured a good few degrees difference inside, which meant no more dramatic flinging of windows open to expel dragonâs breath heat.
- Winter: On those chilly evenings when the wind tries to tuck you in with its icy fingers, Reflectix came through with flying colors. It kept the inside of my RV a snug little burritoâI half expected guacamole to start forming in the corners! I found even the nippiest nip of Jack Frost was kept at bay, saving me from buying stock in thermal underpants.
Pro Tip: Cut some Reflectix circles to fit inside your RV windows and doors. You might end up playing a game of “disc golf” if the wind picks up, but itâs worth the thermal comfort and the odd aerobic workout chasing down runaway insulation.
Adventure awaits… but now without the threat of frostbite or heatstroke stealing my fun!
To sum up, adding Reflectix is like giving your RV a magic thermal cloak, and the price is a fraction of what a wizard would charge. Plus, you’ll save on heating and cooling, leaving you with more pocket change for snacks. What’s not to love? If you’re hesitating over adding this to your own RV, take it from meâit’s the next best thing to a traveling climate control team!

ParticipantCamco SunShield
So there I was, parked under the blazing, unforgiving sun in the middle of nowhere (also known as the best RV spot I could find last-minute). It felt like I was riding in a gigantic tin can, slowly being roasted from the inside out. Enter the Camco SunShield.
Why didn’t I think of this sooner?âI mumbled to myself as I gingerly pulled the SunShield out of its packaging, silently praying it would fit my RV’s windshield. Trust me, this thing is almost better than a cold drink on a scorching dayâbut hey, I said almost!
Putting it up was a breeze, almost like it wanted to be there, protecting me from the sunâs evil rays. As I stepped back to admire my handiwork, the SunShield glimmered confidently, like a silver knight ready to do battle. Not only did it fit perfectly, but it also matched my RV, making it look like I knew what I was doing (a rare occurrence, I assure you).
- Reflective Power: It works like a charm in keeping the interior cooler, and Iâm pretty sure my furniture silently thanked me by feeling less scorching to sit on.
- Durability: The material feels sturdy yet light, kind of like a golden retrieverâstrong and dependable, without being overwhelming.
- Ease of Use: Even for someone like me who wrestles with folding maps, putting the SunShield away is a piece of cake.
- Portability: When itâs not in action, it folds up nicely. No need to fight it back into its original packaging sizeâa definite win!
All in all, my SunShield experience has been nothing short of miraculous. Itâs like Iâve joined an elite squad of sun-fighting warriors, and Iâve never felt cooler (both physically and metaphorically). For anyone considering adding this to their RV arsenal, take it from me: You wonât regret it, and your RV will love you for it. If you want to learn more, you can find it here.
Until next time, fellow RV adventurers, stay cool and may your travels be ever shadier and more pleasant!

ParticipantEcoNour RV Window Shade
So, I recently took my EcoNour RV Window Shade out for a spin (literally) while on a recent trip, and let me just say, the shade didn’t just meet my expectationsâit parked itself on the RV awards pedestal! Picture this: It’s a glaringly bright morning, coffee in hand, you’re trying to read a book, but the sun’s out to sabotage your cozy nook time. Enter the EcoNourâmy unexpected hero.
I had my doubts initially; after all, how functional can a simple shade be? But wow, was I in for a surprise! Pros:
- Easy installation: You don’t need to conduct a PhD-level research study to figure out how to put this thing up. Just unfurl it, slap it on the window, and it clings like it was meant to live there.
- UV protection: With the sun playing peekaboo, I didnât have to deal with that horrid sunburn, nor did my upholstery.
- Temperature control: Maybe this thing doubles as an air conditioner, because my RV was noticeably cooler, and no, I didn’t have to keep the A/C cranked up like an energy-guzzling monster.
Cons? Not many, unless you’re a vampire and you thrive on UV rays! Although it might take a teeny bit of finessing if you’re dealing with oddly-shaped windows. But hey, what’s life without a little challenge, am I right?
While it wonât get you a free Starbucks (wouldnât that be something?), I found that my caffeine lasted longer as I wasn’t perspiring away my precious energy trying to fend off the sun. And for those curious souls who ask, “Do we really need this?ââtrust me, your inner peace and cool beverage say otherwise.
So, if you’ve been debating whether or not to give this a go, I wholeheartedly recommend you just take the leap. Worse case, youâll have a fantastic dartboard, best caseâyou’ll never singe your curtains again!
Hereâs where you can grab one: EcoNour Official Site. Happy RV-ing, and may your travels always be shaded!

ParticipantBest RV Window Shades Buyer’s Guide
So, you’re ready to deck out your RV with some swanky new window shades, huh? Well, buckle up, because picking the best RV window shades can be just as thrilling (or bewildering) as parking a 30-footer in a teeny-weeny campsite. I know this from jaw-clenching experience. Letâs dive into what makes these little fabric wonders an essential part of your RV setup and a sanity-saver for those mid-day, can’t-take-it-anymore glare situations.
The Why: First off, why bother upgrading your window shades? Besides the obvious reason that your decor might still be rocking those 1970s patterns, good shades have their perks: privacy, temperature control, and UV protection. Plus, if youâve ever tried to nap with a sunbeam darting across your face, youâll understand the life-changing magic of a blackout roller shade.
Types of RV Window Shades:
- Roller Shades: These are like the plain white T-shirts of the shade worldâbasic but essential. They offer simplicity, decent privacy, and are usually budget-friendly. Just make sure they donât roll over and fall down faster than your uncle after two glasses of wine.
- Cellular Shades: Also called honeycomb shades, these are champions of insulation. Perfect if your RV trips span everything from desert heat to chilly mountain mornings. Plus, they look pretty snazzy. My only beef? Getting them to stay clean; those cells might as well be crumb magnets.
- Venetian Blinds: Classic, adjustable, and perfect for those who have nostalgia for pulling cords. Just donât let them drive you crazy when they start clanging against the window as you hit bumps on the road, or better yet, invest in some magnetic tie-downs!
- Blackout Shades: For those who crave ultimate darkness, these are your go-to. Theyâre like the snuggly void that keeps the boogie sun at bay when youâre parked under intense streetlights or a full moon. Ah, sweet sleep!
- Solar Shades: Great for daytime privacy and keeping the heat down without blocking your view of natureâor the neighborâs monster of a dog sniffing around your grill.
Material Matters: It’s not just about color, folks! Materials matter. You want something durable and easy to clean, particularly because campfire smoke and sticky kidsâor adultsâcan leave quite the mark. Most importantly, avoid any materials that could shrink up or stretch out like a pair of bad gym shorts.
Top Tips from My RVing Journey:
Make sure you measure each window carefully, or you’ll end up like I did, with a set of shades too narrow. I had sunlight streaming in like a laser, and my “camping friends” jokingly calling my RV the Sunshine Express.
In summary, whether you’re in it for the blackout effects, stylish vibes, or just plain practical reasons, thereâs a perfect shade out there just waiting for you and your trusty RV. My only final advice? Get something easy to installâunless you secretly enjoy spending your Sunday tangled in cords and brackets. Happy camping!
