That One Time I Almost Cooked Myself in a Tent 🤦‍♂️🔥

I thought I was being smart. I thought I had winter camping figured out. But no, I learned the hard way that too much heat is just as bad as too little. Let me set the scene:

• I cranked my heater up to full blast before bed. (Because more heat = better, right?)
• Woke up at 2 AM in a sweat-drenched sleeping bag, feeling like I was being slow-roasted like a Thanksgiving turkey. 🍗
• My breath wasn’t visible anymore. Not because it was warm, but because I may have accidentally created a tropical microclimate inside my tent. 🌴😂
• The condensation was so bad, my sleeping bag was damp, my gear was damp… I was basically camping in a cloud.

Lesson learned: Just because your heater CAN turn your tent into a sauna doesn’t mean you SHOULD let it. 😂

Now I:
✅ Keep the heater on low instead of cranking it to “lava mode.”
✅ Use ventilation so I don’t wake up swimming in humidity.
✅ Set my alarm to adjust the heat if needed, instead of gambling my comfort.

Anyone else accidentally turn their tent into a rainforest before? Tell me I’m not alone. 😆

Why Do I Suddenly Have So Many Friends? 🤔🔥

Let me tell you something I learned: Owning a tent heater makes you the most popular person at camp.

Before my Mr. Heater Buddy entered my life:
❄️ My friends would “check in” on me but then run back to their own freezing tents.
❄️ I was just another camper in the group.
❄️ No one cared where I pitched my tent.

AFTER I got a heater?
🔥 Suddenly, everyone wants to hang out in MY tent.
🔥 People start bringing me snacks, coffee, and compliments.
🔥 “Hey, mind if I just warm up in here for a minute?” (…An hour later, they’re still there.)
🔥 My tent is now the unofficial lounge, coffee shop, and social hub.

Not complaining, but let’s be real—I did NOT expect to become the campsite’s human fireplace. 😂 Anyone else experience this?
