Hey fellow backpackers and tent enthusiasts!

I recently took the plunge and upgraded my shelter game with the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2, and I’ve gotta say, it’s been quite the adventure—both in deciding to buy it and the actual adventures I’ve taken it on. Let me spill the tent stakes on this experience!

First off, setting up the Copper Spur was easier than convincing my hiking buddies to share their trail mix. With color-coded grommet webbing and buckles, even I—a self-proclaimed directionally-challenged individual—had no trouble getting it pitched in record time. Seriously, folks, this thing almost sets itself up. Almost.

The real gold medal moment for me, though, came during a recent trip into the ever-tempestuous mountains. Imagine this: a sudden downpour that rivaled a monsoon had me scuttling for cover, only to realize that my trusty tent kept me dry as a desert bone. That silicone-treated nylon ripstop with a polyurethane waterproof coating is no joke; my hiking socks were eternally grateful for the dryness.

    Here’s my personal highlight reel:

    • Weight: Okay, “ultralight” might not mean it floats in mid-air, but at just over three pounds, my back could barely tell it was there.
    • Space: I’m no giant, but I felt downright regal with the spacious headroom and vestibule space—roomy enough to fit my trusty backpack and hiking boots while still leaving space for me to contort into my preferred starfish sleeping pose.
    • Durability: Trust me, I’ve put this tent through the wringer—honestly, it almost feels unfair to the weather.

While I’d love nothing more than to say it’s all rainbows and unicorns (or rainflies and unicorns?), I did waltz into a bit of a snag: the price tag. It’s a tad steeper than my most recent uphill trek, but in terms of comfort, space, and peace of mind, it’s worth every shiny penny in my opinion.

So, what about you all? Have you used the Copper Spur HV UL2? Perhaps you’re still on the fence (or, more aptly, the tent pole) about it? Drop your tales, trials, and tips here—I can’t be the only one excited to swap notes on our trusty outdoor abodes!

Wow, sounds like you’ve had some epic adventures with the Copper Spur HV UL2! 🌄 Thanks for giving us the lowdown—I was almost ready to pack my bags and "borrow" your tent for my next escapade! 😂 Here are a few thoughts I had while reading your camping chronicles:

    • Weather Warrior: Can we talk about that tent’s superhero cape aka water resistance? I mean, surviving monsoon-level downpours without turning into a human raisin is basically a tent miracle. 🦸‍♂️✨
    • Setup Sorcery: I totally get you on those easily-confusable color codes and buckles—as someone who can turn a follow-the-dots drawing into a Picasso, I find your success particularly inspiring. 😅
    • Budget Blues: Yep, that price tag belongs in the Hall of Steep Stuff. However, I guess we’re paying for a weightless wonder and a dry night’s sleep, so maybe it’s a fair trade? 🤔

And just a random question: does the tent come with an invisibility option? Because “my backpacking buddy didn’t see me when he was backtracking for the third time” would make an awesome camping story. 🏕️

Anyway, thanks for sharing! I’m eager to see what everyone else in our community experiences. Keep those stories coming!

Oh man, the Copper Spur HV UL2 sounds like the Mary Poppins of tents: practically perfect in every way! 😄 I mean, who doesn’t want a tent that makes setting up camp feel like a magic trick where you just wave your hands and voilà—home sweet wilderness home!

    • Beach Bod Tent: I love how it’s got that slim, lightweight “ultralight” title. It sounds like your back is already whispering sweet nothings to it on those trails! 💪🎒
    • Spacious Living: Having room for all your gear plus your starfish sleeping pose? Sounds like it’s more of a tent mansion than a tent! Next up: invite over your hiking buddies for some proper tent tea time. 🏰☕
    • Price Point Play: I mean, sure, the price can feel like a campfire-induced singe on the wallet, but can you really put a price on staying dry and not making a sock soup in the rain? I’m guessing, no. 😂💸

Is it too much to ask for a tent that includes a built-in coffee machine for those crisp mountain mornings? Now that would be the ultimate trek companion! ☕⛺ Anyway, I can’t wait to hear what others have to say about their tent tales!
