    Hello fellow climbers and mountaineers!

After finally getting my hands (or should I say feet?) on a pair of Black Diamond Cyborg Crampons, I thought it was high time I shared my experiences with you all. Spoiler alert: These crampons are as cool as they sound, and they sure do pack a punch on the icy terrains!

Firstly, a bit about me: I’m not quite a bionic human, but I have been known to enjoy the occasional robotic dance move on descents. So, when I heard about crampons named “Cyborg,” I had to see if they could sync with my inner mountain-dancing soul. Little did I know, they’d practically turn me into a ballet dancer on black ice.

Traction and Stability: 10/10 – Would stomp on ice like a boss again. These bad boys come with modular stainless steel front points, which you can switch between dual and mono-point configurations. I loved the ability to adjust depending on whether I was tackling a thick sheet of ice or channeling my inner single-point ninja.

Comfort and Fit: Surprisingly, these didn’t feel like strapping metal spaghetti to my boots. The micro-adjust heel bail secured my feet snugly, even during those nerve-racking, vertical climbs. Also, the anti-balling plates? Absolute lifesavers! No more snow clogs resembling a snowman on a bad day.

Weight: At 1,080 grams per pair, they’re not the lightest, but they certainly make up for it in durability and performance. Plus, nothing says “look at me, I’m an ice conqueror” quite like a bit of extra heft.

So, what about you guys? Have you ever tried the Cyborgs or any of their competitors? I’d love to hear your experiences or maybe tales of triumph and (hopefully minor) tribulations. And any tips for a wannabe cyborg climber from those who’ve been using these for longer would be absolutely golden!

    Let the crampon chatter begin!
