Just wanted to share my experience with the Black Diamond HotForge Quickdraws. I’ve been putting these bad boys to the test over the past few months, and let me tell you, they’ve seen more wear and tear than my gym socks—sorry, TMI!

• Weight: As someone who values a light pack almost as much as I love post-climb pizza, these quickdraws are a dream. They’re light enough that I barely notice them, yet solid enough to trust when you’re 20 feet above your last bolt and having a “nope” moment.
• Carabiners: The combination of a straight-gate and a bent-gate ‘biner is like having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in your pack—reliable and satisfying. They clip like a hot knife through butter, or as us climbers experience, like a successful clip where you don’t hear that awful scraping sound.
• Durability: After numerous scrambles, falls, and questionable weather conditions, they’ve held up like champions. I swear, these quickdraws would survive a zombie apocalypse. They’ve taken all sorts of abuse and still look ready to tackle another route.
• Value: For the price, these quickdraws are a steal. Who doesn’t love gear that doesn’t make you choose between climbing and rent? I’ve definitely told my non-climbing friends they’re missing out on the thrill of spending all their money on climbing gear!
• Overall Performance: In summary, they’re as reliable as that friend who always remembers to bring extra chalk and the first aid kit.
