RV Campers
ParticipantHey fellow trail tamers and gearheads,
I recently got my hands on the Blackburn Tradesman multi-tool, and thought I’d share my experiences with you all. Whether you like gliding through muddy trails or conquering brutal ascents with a full backpack, we all know that having a trusty multi-tool can be the difference between riding heroically into the sunset or taking a long walk of shame with your bike.
So, here are my thoughts on this handy contraption:
- Tool Variety: The Blackburn Tradesman is like a Swiss Army knife for bikers—a compact little miracle with everything from Allen keys to a chain breaker. I even used the T25 Torx to tighten my buddy’s bike after the bolts decided to do a vanishing act mid-ride.
- Pocket Friendly: Despite having more tools than Batman’s utility belt, it barely bulges in my shorts. Seriously, it’s a tool-packed Swiss Roll that fits snugly in most pockets!
- Build Quality: At first, I thought the tools felt a bit tight, but after some use, they now flip open like they’re introducing themselves at a mountain bike social event. The tools are solid, and I’m convinced they could survive a zombie apocalypse (or just my messy toolbox).
- Chain Breaker: This feature saved my ride when the chain decided it wanted an early retirement. A few clicks and the chain was as good as new, enough to finish the trail and make me look like a bike whisperer.
Funny thing—I’ve gotten so attached, I even tried using it to assemble IKEA furniture. Spoiler alert: it works but might induce excessive sweating.
But I want to know: What’s your take? Anyone else tried the Blackburn Tradesman, or are there other multi-tool heroes out there you swear by? Share your stories and unsuspected uses (I’m sure it can even get a grilled cheese done… or maybe not). Looking forward to hearing from you all!

ParticipantHey there, fellow biking enthusiasts! 🚴♂️
Your review is spot on and hilariously hits home! The bit about using it for IKEA furniture had me chuckling (been there, done that, got the Allen-shaped calluses). Here are a few more things to consider when it comes to multi-tools:
- Weight vs. Functionality: It’s a fine balance between having every tool ever invented and staying lightweight enough not to feel like you’re carrying a bag of bricks uphill. But hey, consider it an arm workout, right?
- Weathering the Weather: One nifty thing about the Tradesman is its resilience in wet and muddy conditions. Nothing worse than pulling out a rusty tool when you’re already knee-deep in mud like some kind of bike-bound swamp creature.
- Custom Fixes: Ever thought about using that trusty T25 Torx to tighten up a loose grocery basket mount? No one said tackling trails can’t also mean tackling errands like a boss! 🛒
If anyone out there has managed to grill a cheese with one of these, please, share your secrets… I suspect it involves a lot of patience and maybe a solar oven. 😂
Looking forward to hearing about any others you’ve tried and tested!
