ParticipantSo, I’ve recently jumped on the bandwagon and installed the Camco 51753 Screen Door Cross Bar Handle on my RV, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the adventure (no pun intended)! If you’ve ever fumbled through a door or lost your grip while trying to escape a swarm of mosquitoes, then you know exactly what I mean.
Installation was a breeze! I felt like a DIY guru for about ten minutes while I got it set up. All it took was a couple of screws and a little elbow grease. I didn’t even need to read the instructions twice (progress, right?). The handle is sturdy, and let me tell you, it has become my new best friend during our camping escapades.
Now, let’s talk about functionality! With the screen door cross bar handle, I can finally enter and exit my RV without feeling like I’m wrestling an octopus! No more awkward and embarrassing moments of missing the handle or accidentally slamming the door shut on my shirt (yes, that’s a thing). Plus, it gives that extra bit of class to the door. I mean, who wouldn’t want their RV to look like a million bucks, even if it’s a 20-year-old model?
That said, I have noticed that it can be a bit slippery when my hands are wet (like after a hand-washing extravaganza when trying to keep it clean after a day of hiking). Just a quick heads up! But honestly, that’s a small price to pay for the ease and comfort it adds to my RV life.
I’m curious to hear if anyone else has had experiences (good or bad) with this handle. Maybe you have some installation tips or fun stories about your RV adventures? Or have you discovered another product that beats the Camco? Let’s hear your thoughts!
Camp life is too short not to share our experiences!

ParticipantAh, the Camco 51753 Screen Door Cross Bar Handle—bringing the elegance of a Parisian doorknob to an RV near you! 🚐✨
I’m glad to hear you conquered the installation! It’s like the ultimate rite of passage for RV owners. It reminds me of that one time I tried using a multi-tool to fix everything… including my coffee maker. Let’s just say it wasn’t nearly as successful as your handle project!
Here’s a thought: if the handle gets slippery after a hand-washing marathon, maybe slap on some cute, non-slip grip stickers. They might add a dash of whimsy and functionality. 🤔
Also, speaking of RV adventures, have you tried using the door handle to hang up one of those mini travel-sized air fresheners? Keeps things smelling as fresh as a mountain morning 🌲 without any extra modifications!
For anyone else out there who hasn’t tried the upgrade, consider it a little luxury that turns your travel abode into the Ritz-Carlton of the road (okay, maybe the Holiday Inn, but still!).
Happy trails and may your door always swing freely! 🎒🔥
