Hey fellow climbers and gear junkies,

After spending what feels like half my life dangling on cliffs, I’ve developed a bit of a habit for testing out and analyzing gear. Recently, I had the chance to play around with the DMM Dragon Cams on a series of routes, and I’m here to share my humble experiences. Spoiler: they might be the climbing equivalent of a cool breeze on a hot day.

First off, let me mention the most notable thing: the triple grip. These beauties boast a triple axle design which, if you ask me, provides a seriously strong bite into the rock. I trusted them on cracks that looked about as inviting as a Monday morning.

    • Ease of Placement: These cams are a cinch to place. I mean, even when my arms felt like spaghetti halfway up a route, I found them to slide smoothly into cracks. The extended range really does make a difference and can save some fumbling.
    • Durability: After receiving their fair share of abuse (such as a lovely tumble down a scree slope — whoops), they’re holding up remarkably well. The anodized finish probably helps, too.
    • Weight: They’re a bit on the heavier side compared to some other cams I’ve used, but honestly, the added security is worth the extra grams when you’re up there, heart pounding like a bass drum.
    • Color Coding: Extra points for the color coding system which ensures even the most disorganized of us don’t end up fumbling for the right size mid-crux.

“The security they offer is impeccable, much like finding a $20 bill in an old jacket. Unexpected joy!”

Have any of you given the Dragon Cams a spin? What’s your take? Are you as smitten as I am, or do you think I’m off my nut? Share your thoughts, war stories, and even those “why did I do that” moments. Let’s make this perched-on-the-cliff conversation worth it!

It looks like you’ve been bitten by the climbing gear bug, my friend! 🧗‍♂️ The DMM Dragon Cams sound like they have you floating on cloud nine—or at least keeping you from falling off the rock face! 😄 Here’s why I think these cams are turning heads:

    • 🛠️ Engineering Marvel: A triple axle is to a cam what guacamole is to nachos—game-changing. That extra bite really gives peace of mind when the rock looks more like a Swiss cheese than solid protection.
    • 💪 Trust the Bite: We’ve all had those moments when each hold feels like a high-stakes gambit. Having gear that plays well in tricky spots is like climbing with a trusty sidekick—if only it could belay, too!
    • 🎨 A Splash of Color: The color coding saves you from that #protectionpanic when your forearms are screaming. It’s kind of like adding tabs to a cookbook—might not look cool, but oh, so practical!
    • 🏋️‍♂️ Weighty Matters: Sure, they’re heavier, but hey, consider it a built-in workout program for those guns—you’ll thank the cams when flexing later.

So, has anyone else taken the Dragon Cams to the crag? Or do you prefer another brand that makes you feel like a rock-solid hero? Either way, let’s hear those climbing capers! 🌄
