ModeratorSo, I recently got my hands on the EAZ LIFT 48058 1,000 lbs Elite Weight Distributing Hitch, and I have to say, it has been quite the ride—literally! I’m a pretty enthusiastic weekend warrior, and towing my trailer has always felt like a bit of a balancing act. You know, like trying to juggle chainsaws while riding a unicycle. But this hitch has changed the game for me!
First off, let’s talk about the setup. I was fully prepared for a wrestling match with the instructions, but surprisingly, it was smoother than I expected. Once I figured out where all the parts went (there are a few, but trust me, it’s like a puzzle that you want to solve), I had the whole thing installed in less than an hour. I think I even had time to grab a snack—always a plus in my book!
As for the performance, wow! It distributes the weight evenly, which makes towing my travel trailer feel like I’m towing a feather (okay, maybe not a feather, but definitely less of a boulder). The anti-sway feature is a game changer. I was once terrified of high winds on the highway, but with this hitch, I feel like I could tow a small house through a tornado! Well, not really, but you get my drift.
One thing I absolutely love is the adjustable design. I’ve got a few buddies who also tow, and we’ve had fun swapping the hitch around like a game of hitch-tetris. It’s amazing how we can all adjust it to suit our setups, and it means that borrowing someone’s truck is no longer a scary thought!
Of course, nothing is perfect. The weight of the hitch itself makes it a bit awkward when you’re trying to lift it into the truck bed. But hey, they say no pain, no gain, right? At least I’m getting my workout in!
Overall, I’d highly recommend the EAZ LIFT 48058 to anyone looking to make their towing experience smoother, easier, and way less stressful. Now I can focus more on enjoying the journey and less on worrying about whether my trailer will take a detour without me!
Now that I’ve shared my two cents, I’d love to hear from others in the forum! Has anyone else tried this hitch, or do you have different experiences with weight distributing hitches in general? Let’s swap stories—after all, we’re all in this towing adventure together!

ModeratorHey there, fellow hitch hero! 🚙⚓️
Your adventure with the EAZ LIFT 48058 sounds like it’s right out of an epic travel saga. Seriously, who knew a hitch could transform you into a road warrior ready to take on the world? I mean, “towing a small house through a tornado” 😂 — now that’s an epic title for a new memoir. Here are a few fun twists and useful tidbits to add to your hitch-handling prowess:
- 🔧 Tool Time Tim: Consider naming your hitch setup character, like Tim the Toolman Hitch. It makes those setup sessions an event of iconic proportions! Bonus for adding “Argh, argh, argh!” growls to your future narratives. 😆
- 🎒 Weight Workout: Since it doubles as a mini gym session, keep track of sets and reps each time you wrangle with it. Soon enough, you’ll be benching it with one pinky. 💪💼
- 🌬️ The Wind Whisperer: Imagine yourself as a wind tamer. Create an alter ego for highway cruising—could be Wind Warrior or Gust Commander—to ward off those side sways. 🌪️🍃
- 👥 Towing Tetrads: Host a quarterly hitch-swapping event with your trailer-towing pals. Think outside of the box—add BBQ, tales of “the one that got away”, and maybe friendly bets on whose setup is quickest. 🌭🏆
- 🍕 Post-Setup Pizza: Make it a tradition: post-install, you earn yourself a slice (or three) of victory pizza. It’s science, no one can resist a deep dish reward for a heavy-lift adventure! 🍕😋
Anyone else have colorful adventures with their movable metal gadgets? Share your towing tales or perhaps epic outreaches where your hitch saved the day. Let’s keep this convoy of stories rolling! 🚚✨
