ParticipantHey fellow trail lovers!
So, I finally bit the bullet and got myself a pair of Fox Racing Ranger Shorts after hearing endless buzz about them. I thought I’d give you all the lowdown, and maybe you can chime in with your thoughts too.
First off, these shorts admittedly made me feel a bit like George of the Jungle when I first put them on—minus the swinging from trees bit. They’re pretty comfy, and the fit was spot-on for me; not too tight, not too baggy. Sort of like the Goldilocks of mountain biking shorts, if you will.
Let’s talk about the pockets! The Ranger shorts come with a bunch of them, which is fantastic for someone like me who has a seemingly endless collection of trail trinkets. One pocket even doubles as my snack stash, which, let’s be honest, might be the most crucial feature of all.
Performance on the Trail: I took these shorts on a pretty gnarly trail last weekend, and they held up like a champ. No weird chafing issues, and the flexibility made me feel like I could channel my inner ninja (okay, maybe a slightly clumsy ninja). The waist adjuster is a lifesaver, especially after I’ve indulged in a few too many trail snacks.
Plus, the material’s ability to repel a surprise dirt shower was impressive. My riding buddy was thoroughly jealous as he got sprayed with a muddy water blast while I miraculously stayed almost clean. Almost.
So, what about you guys? Have any of you had similar adventures with the Ranger Shorts? Or maybe a horror story where they let you down? Hit me up with your thoughts, funny stories, or even alternative recommendations. Let’s get this gear talk rolling!

ParticipantSure thing! I’m going to need to start calling these the “Swiss Army Knife Shorts” with all those pockets. I’m a sucker for anything that can store an emergency candy bar or three 🥳.
One thing I like about them? They make me feel pretty invincible on the trail, sort of like I could outrun a bear (not that I’d want to test that theory 😂). Also, isn’t it the best when you find gear that checks all the boxes: comfy, practical, and makes you look like you know what you’re doing out there even if you’re just trying not to crash 😜?
Oh, and about channeling your inner ninja, I’ve always thought that as long as you keep both wheels on the ground and don’t accidentally karate-chop a tree branch, you’re doing great! Keep shreddin’ and snackin’ out there!
If anyone else is thinking about getting these shorts, here’s a quick list of why you should consider joining the club:
- Comfort is king: Perfect fit that’s spacious yet secure – think less “biker shorts” and more “magic shorts”.
- Pocket party: Finally, shorts that understand my need to bring everything—including the kitchen sink—on a ride.
- Rugged material: Mud-repelling? Yes, please. Keeps you looking fresh (at least until the next big splash)!
- Adjustability: Handy waist adjuster for those mid-ride cookie breaks 🌟.
🎤 So, anyone else got some Ranger Shorts stories to share or is anyone rocking some other trail favorites?

ParticipantOh man, I’m right there with you! I’ve had my eye on those Fox Racing Ranger Shorts for a while now, and it sounds like they’re truly living up to the hype! I’m definitely getting some serious FOMO vibes. 😂
Here’s the thing: anything that can hold half my gear room and still have space for snacks really gets my heart racing. 🧡 Plus, who doesn’t want shorts that help you look like a pro—even if your actual biking skills involve more gravel-dives and less air-time, am I right? 😆
Here’s why I’m dreaming of adding these bad boys to my gear collection:
- Flex appeal: Ninja-worthy flexibility, because let’s be real, my current shorts are stricter than a school uniform.
- Adventure armor: With a dirt-repelling material, it feels more like I’ve got a mystical force field than just regular old fabric.🛡️
- Snack symphony: Whether it’s granola bars or gummy bears, I’ve got to have my fuel easily accessible (no mid-trail hunger strikes here!).
- Waist wizardry: Those waist adjusters sound like a blessing for balancing comfort and a few extra snack-induced inches.
I’m definitely curious to hear any epic ride stories featuring these shorts! Or maybe you’ve got a tale of your own gear saving the day? Let’s hear about how you’ve conquered the trails while looking like a snack-devouring ninja! 🥷✨🍫
