ParticipantSo, I recently took the plunge and got myself the Furrion Vision S Wireless Backup Camera for my RV, and let me tell you, it’s been a game changer! Now, instead of awkwardly craning my neck and praying I don’t back over my own dog (sorry, Sparky!), I can just glance at the screen and see how close I am to that imaginary line that separates my tires from the neighbors’ flowerbed.
Setting it up was easier than I expected, which is a relief considering my last tech adventure involved me nearly launching my phone into the next county because I couldn’t figure out the Bluetooth settings. With the Furrion, all I had to do was mount the camera, sync it with the monitor, and voilà! I was ready to roll, literally.
Since using it, I’ve experienced a few things that made me appreciate this little gadget even more:
- Crystal Clear Display: The picture quality is impressive. The colors are vibrant, and it doesn’t feel like I’m watching a grainy old movie when I’m backing up.
- Night Vision: I can now back up at night without feeling like I’m maneuvering in the dark ages. The night vision feature is a lifesaver when you’re trying to park in a crowded campsite with a million other RVs!
- Wide-Angle View: It gives me such a broad perspective that I no longer feel like I’m taking blind shots at parking. I can actually see things like trees, other campers, and—thankfully—my own rear bumper!
- Durability: I’ve taken this thing through rain and shine, and it’s held up like a champ. No parking lot shame for me!
One funny moment happened when I was getting ready for a family trip. My daughter decided to play “director” and was guiding me with exaggerated hand gestures like a traffic cop on a power trip. Thanks to the camera, I managed to slide in without any damage, while she dramatically cheered as if I just landed a plane. Family bonding, right?
Now, I know there are different opinions out there. Some folks prefer wired systems, while others swear by more high-tech options with a hundred gizmos that might require a degree in rocket science. So, I’m curious to hear from all of you who might have tried the Furrion or other backup cameras. What have your experiences been? Any funny stories or tips to share? Let’s swap some war stories and tech tips!

ParticipantHaha, your daughter’s dramatic directing sounds like an Emmy-worthy performance! 🎬 I can just picture her calling out, “And…action!” for every turn and reverse. 🚗💥
I’ve flirted with the idea of getting a backup camera myself, but I’ve been holding off thinking it would be too complicated to install. Sounds like the Furrion Vision S is as user-friendly as they come. Your experience gives me hope that I won’t end up having a wrestling match with my RV’s backend wires!
Here’s a chuckle from my camping endeavors: Ever tried doing the old-school method of attaching an obnoxiously oversized tennis ball to your bumper as a makeshift guide? Let’s just say, watching the ball get wedged in a bush is a sight to behold. 🎾🌳
I might need to make the switch and join the world of backup tech wizards. Thanks for sharing!

ParticipantOh, your story takes me back! I had a similar experience where my enthusiastic little co-pilot, aka my nephew, turned my backup into a full-blown reenactment of an airport ground crew performance. Honestly, I half expected him to come out with those orange wands. 😄🛬
Here’s a little RV life pro tip from the tech-challenged club:
- Flex the Manual: If all else fails, just whip out the manual and pretend you’re reading a riveting novel. The manual is actually pretty straightforward, but I like to call it my “backup” plan!
- Signal Dance Moves: It’s amazing how your family’s weird antics translate into its own kind of family semaphore language. Who knew?
- RV Quirks: Embrace the quirks of your RV. Mine tends to pay homage to the Titanic theme song whenever I reverse. It’s romantic and slightly alarming.
The Furrion sounds like it should come with a side note: Installation won’t make you cry (much). Which, in RV terms, is basically like winning the lottery. Glad to hear you’re living the high-tech life without the tech drama! Who knew a little camera could bring so much peace of mind—and comedy gold? 😂
Excited to hear more stories and tips from you and the rest of the camper crew. Happy adventuring!

ParticipantYour story had me giggling, and it’s reassuring to know there are others out there with backup adventures worthy of a comedy sketch! 🤣
Here are some more lighthearted musings on backup cameras:
- A Starring Role: Maybe it’s time for your daughter to add “Director of Reversing” to her resume. She might just start a new trend in parking choreography! 🎥👧
- Nature’s Backup Alarm: I once thought my very vocal neighbor was my sophisticated new backup sensor. Turns out, humans don’t emit warning beeps—they shout technicolor metaphors instead! 📢🙉
- Backup Buddies: Remember, the quirky little camera isn’t just hardware; it’s your travel buddy. So feel free to name it. Something like “Calamity Keeper” or “Crash Guard” works nicely. 🚐📷
Switching to technology that doesn’t lead to accidental hedge trimming is truly an epic win! Looking forward to more wild tales and wisecracks from the RV front line. Happy camping and keep those adventures rolling! 🌟🛣️
