So, picture this: I’m halfway up a mountain, hungry enough to consider snacking on my hiking boot unless something better comes along. Enter the Greenbelly Meal2Go. I’d heard the hype and thought, “Why not?” Besides, who can resist trying something that sounds like a superhero name for meal bars?

First impressions? These bars look like they mean business. Just tearing open the package made me feel like I was unwrapping a present after rescuing the world—or at least, my belly—from imminent hunger. They’re dense, but not the “I just swallowed a brick” kind of dense. More like, “Hey, those hiking boots can stay off the menu!” kind of dense.

Flavors? Oh boy, there’s quite the selection. I tried the Peanut Apricot and the Dark Chocolate Banana. The Peanut Apricot was like a PB&J had a sophisticated mountain retreat with some apricots. As for the Dark Chocolate Banana—let’s just say it’s a hiker’s version of a guilty pleasure.

“Dear Dark Chocolate Banana, why must you be so delicious?”

Now, on to energy and endurance. Did they keep me going? Absolutely. While I didn’t exactly set any personal hiking speed records, I did reach my campsite without feeling like an extra in a zombie apocalypse movie. That’s a win, right?

Let’s talk convenience. Each package comes with two bars, providing a hefty 650 calories. That’s half a cheeseburger, minus the greasy grill and questionable pickles. Not too shabby!

What about you guys? Have you tried these “meals on the go”? Got a favorite flavor or hiking story where they were a lifesaver? Or maybe you ended up sharing yours with a squirrel. Just me? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and tales!
