Hey fellow hikers!
I recently got my hands on the Nitecore NU25 headlamp, and after a few nighttime adventures, I thought I’d share my thoughts. Spoiler alert: I may have a new favorite gadget in my hiking arsenal!
First off, let’s talk about the size. This thing is light—like, almost-forget-it’s-on-your-head light. It’s perfect for those of us who don’t need any more “weight” excuses for our slow uphill pace. (Or is that just me?)
Here are a few things that stood out to me:
- Battery Life: Honestly, I was impressed. It lasted longer than my last relationship and with none of the emotional baggage.
- Brightness: It’s like having a mini sun strapped to your head. Perfect for making those night-time trail critters feel like they’re in an interrogation room.
- Comfort: The strap is soft and adjustable, which means no awkward head prints the morning after a long hike.
- Charging: USB rechargeable! No more scavenging for batteries like a post-apocalyptic hiker.
I took it for a spin during a recent sunset hike that inevitability turned into a night climb. The red light mode was a savior, letting me check my map without blinding my hiking buddy. (Who now appreciates night hiking, thanks to yours truly.)
But enough about my experience! I’m curious: How has the Nitecore NU25 held up for those of you who’ve had it longer? Any fun mishaps or glowing successes to share? Let’s get some stories—and maybe a few laughs—going!
