Hey there, fellow adventurers!
Just got back from a weekend trek and I’ve finally put my Patagonia R1 Air Hoodie through the wringer. Let me tell you, this hoodie deserves its own standing ovation. If it were a person, it would definitely be getting a high-five right now.
First Impressions: Right out of the box, the material is soft yet feels robust enough to withstand whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at it. The color is bold and lively, which means it matches my personality—or at least that’s what I tell myself.
Performance: Here’s where it earns its stripes. During one of my hikes, the weather decided to play a game of “four seasons in one day.” This hoodie handled it like a champ! It kept me so warm that I swear little toasty marshmallows must live inside it, yet it was surprisingly breathable. No swamp-like conditions under there after some uphill slogging. It’s like wearing a thermos, but cooler (in every sense).
Fit & Feel: Let me just say, putting this on felt like getting a comforting hug from a burrito blanket, minus the salsa stains. The fit is true to size, allowing enough room for layering without turning into a shapeless potato sack.
- Pros: Super warm, lightweight, and looks pretty snazzy. Also, the hood is like a little fortress protecting my head from wind gusts that can only be described as aggressive.
- Cons: The price tag did make my wallet whisper its last goodbyes. Also, if you wear this to a social event, don’t plan on taking it off, or face some serious hoodie hair.
Overall, I’m a fan! But hey, everyone has different earlobes, purples, and hiking experiences. So, how about you guys? Any other R1 Air Hoodie wearers out there? What’s been your take during your outdoor escapades? Spill the beans; I’m all ears (and R1).
Looking forward to hearing your tales from the trails!
