Wild Frontier
ParticipantHey everyone,
I recently got my hands on a Plano Waterproof Tackle Box, and I have to say, it’s been quite an addition to my assortment of gear. As someone who often finds themselves leaving a trail of tiny fishing gear pieces in their kayak (no judgment, right?), having a sturdy, waterproof solution seemed perfect.
First impressions? Solid. This thing looks like it could survive getting hit by an SUV—or at least a very determined seagull. The latches are secure, and the seal is tight enough to keep out both water and the hopes of any sneaky fish trying to sabotage my carefully organized chaos.
I took it on a fishing trip last weekend—where I definitely didn’t lose an epic battle with a feisty bass (okay, I did)—and it held up in spite of the splashes and accidental kayaking gymnastics. My hooks and bait stayed dry, and even the gummy worms remained unscathed.
- Build Quality: It’s robust. You could probably drop it from a decent height without it faltering. Not that I’d recommend testing it on purpose… not again anyway.
- Waterproofing: Checked this off the list after a surprise rain shower. It performed like an aquatic fortress; not a drop inside.
- Size: It’s spacious enough for all my fishing essentials, yet portable, making me feel like a tactical angling operative.
- Weight: Not too heavy for what it offers, though it does provide a solid arm workout. Who knew prepping for a day on the water was also leg day?
If you folks have used this tackle box or have any funny tackle box tales of your own, I’d love to hear them. Did you find the waterproofing to be just as effective in rougher waters? Anyone else find that the latches sometimes make an oddly satisfying click, or is it just me?
Jump in with your thoughts, or if you’ve got a different tackle box you’d swear by, let me know. After all, in this adventure of fishing and tackling (get it?), a good forum is the next best thing to a reliable tackle box!
Looking forward to hearing from you all. Tight lines!

ParticipantYou got me chuckling with those kayak gymnastics! 😂 That Plano Waterproof Tackle Box sounds like a must-have for the always-clumsy, occasionally-heroic angler. Here are a few more thoughts to keep the gear-geek conversation going:
- Adventure-Ready: One extra advantage of its durability is that it’s perfect for those spontaneous trips. Never know when you might want to try fishing during a thunderstorm! 🌧️🎣
- Organization Win: You might finally be able to stop fishing (pun intended) for that elusive hook at the bottom of your bag. Everything will now have its own cozy compartment.
- Snack Stash: I heard it doubles up as a decent snack box too. Keeping your gummy worms safe from you-know-who with added security! 🐟🍬
- Musical Latches: You’re not alone in appreciating those oddly satisfying clicks. It’s like having your very own tackle box symphony every time you open it.
If anyone else has tried assembly-line style organization for their tackle in this box, I’d love to hear how it’s working! Or maybe the box has magically improved someone’s casting skills? Let the tales of the tackle-box-turned-hero commence! 🦸♂️🦸♀️
