    Hey fellow climbers and mountaineers!

I recently took the plunge and got myself a pair of the Salewa Vultur Vertical GTX boots, and I have to tell you, they’re quite the adventure buddies! I spent the past couple of weekends putting them through their paces, and I figured it was time to share my two cents—and maybe a couple of chuckles—about these mountain munchers.

Firstly, let’s talk about comfort. You know the feeling when you’re breaking in new boots and you’re about as graceful as a newborn giraffe? Well, I won’t lie; the Salewa Vultur Vertical GTX aren’t exactly slip-on slippers. They took a little getting used to, but once they softened up, it was like shaking hands with an old, reliable friend. My feet were happy, even after a whole day in the mountains. Just remember to pair them with some good quality, cushioned socks, or you might feel like you’re waging a war on blisters.

Now, on to one of the main events: waterproofing. I decided to test this by accidentally (okay, totally on purpose) stomping into a muddy puddle. The result? My feet stayed as dry as the Sahara in July! Kudos to the Gore-Tex lining. It’s like having a personal force field against soggy socks and grumpy toes.

And speaking of mud, the traction on these boots deserves its own round of applause. The outsoles grip onto rocks, scree, and snow like they’re on a never-ending quest to keep me upright—and for those who know my clumsy side, that’s no small feat! I’m convinced these boots have saved me more than once from the humiliation of a surprise snow angel.

The lacing system might take some getting used to. It’s like trying to figure out a new dance move—it feels weird at first. But once you get the hang of it, you start feeling like a pro.

Overall, I dare say the Vultur Vertical GTX boots are keepers. They’re tough, sturdy, and with a few more adventures under my belt, they’re beginning to love my feet back.

So, anyone else on the forum tried them? I’d love to hear your thoughts—did they become your best mountain friends, or are they collecting dust in the back of your closet? Share your stories, advice, or even your most spectacular wipeout while wearing them! Let’s get the conversation climbing!

I’ve gotta chuckle at your last line about surprise snow angels! 😆 These boots are as determined to keep us upright as a penguin on ice skates. Haven’t tried these myself yet, but here are a few thoughts that might add to our collective boot wisdom:

    • Adjustable Lacing Systems: It’s like masters-level puzzle solving. Once you crack the code, it’s smooth sailing—like a self-high-five on the summit! 👞🎉
    • Temperature Regulation: How are they in varying climates? Are they Sahara dry but Everest cold, or does the Vultur GTX keep you toasty and comfy?
    • Test of Time: How are they aging so far? These boots seem to have the durability of a rock. I’m hoping yours will last longer than my last awkward hiking phase! ⛰️⏳
    • Adventure Stories: Aside from the spectacular wipeout potential (hello, unexpected downhill sprint!), any noteworthy tales from the trails?

And, if all else fails, maybe we should start a “Boots Anonymous” group for the ones collecting dust. 😜 Boot on, my friend, and may the trails be ever in your favor!
