Why I Always Keep a Bottle of Awning Cleaner in My Rig
I used to think keeping an awning cleaner in my RV was overkill. “I’ll just clean it when I get home,” I said. “It’s not a big deal,” I thought. Then came the time we camped under a sappy pine tree during a particularly humid summer.
By the time we rolled up camp, my awning looked like it had been through a tar pit. Sticky, grimy, and already sprouting mildew. If I’d had my awning cleaner on hand, I could’ve sprayed it down before the mess baked in under the sun. Instead, I had to wait until I got home, and by then, it had become a real job.
Lesson learned. Now, I always keep a bottle of awning cleaner (right now, I’m using Camco Pro-Strength) and a brush in my storage compartment. If I spot trouble, I tackle it before it becomes a disaster. It’s saved me a ton of elbow grease, and I no longer roll up a filthy awning, hoping it’ll clean itself. (Spoiler: It won’t.)
Anyone else keep an “emergency” awning cleaner on board?
